There is a fine line between effectively focusing on several things at a time, and not being able to maintain focus
on anything.
As an adult with ADHD and the mother of two sons with ADHD,
I have spent most of my adult life looking for solutions for my own difficulties with focus and attention and those of my
sons. When my younger son wanted to join the military, he had to give up taking Ritalin, so it was imperative that we
find solutions for his ADHD challenges that did not include drugs.
These solutions are unique for
each person, and require identifying the specific ways that the focus and attention deficit manifests itself. But it
can be done - honestly! Applying the Five
A's of Personal Effectiveness, we will work together to:
- ASSESS your current state and what you want your future state to look like
- ASSIGN tasks and create an action plan for moving from current to future state
- ACQUIRE the new skills, behaviors and habits to get the action plan implemented
- APPLY your new skills, behaviors and habits to other
areas
- ACCOUNT for following and maintaining your changes
and new behaviors
